The Crooked Tree Center Alternative Education Program is designed to meet the educational needs of at-risk and court placed
youth with the goal of completion of their high school diploma.
The Crooked Tree Center Alternative Education Program provides:
·Teach students functional independence through a skill development curriculum
·Promote open communication among students, families and community agencies
·Advocate for severely impaired students and encourage placement in the "least restrictive environment" possible
·Foster relationships severely impaired students and their peers in general education through inclusion experiences in
the regular school setting
·Foster community relationships by providing experiences within the community setting
The Crooked Tree Center Alternative Education Program is an Independent Study setting. Students are allowed maximum flexibility
to work at their own pace on the required subject matter of their choice in what manner best suits them. Our Class Structure
is Flexible!

Graduation Requirements
Twenty-two credits are required to graduate from the Turning Leaf Alternative Education Program.

Current Events / Life Skills (1/2) unit per semester while attending TLAEP
Electives (The remainder of the 22 credits will be made up of electives which may include:
